From Ambulance to Bookmobile
Phoenix Book Truck began as a unique dream: to convert an ambulance into a mobile book bistro that would bring literature to every corner of Phoenix. Founded in 2019 by Mary Arman, our book truck is dedicated to literary emergencies of all kinds.
What started as a creative way to showcase indie authors has grown into a beloved community resource offering book sales, author events, publishing assistance, and public speaking services.
Our ambulance bookmobile is more than just a novelty—it's a symbol of our mission to deliver literary healing and joy throughout the Phoenix metro area.

Meet Mary Arman
Founder & Literary Enthusiast
Mary's love for books began in childhood and evolved into a passion for sharing literature with others. With a background in education and publishing, she dreamed of creating a unique space where indie authors could thrive and readers could discover new literary treasures.
In 2019, she transformed a retired ambulance into the Phoenix Book Truck, combining her love of books with a quirky, eye-catching mobile venue that would bring literature directly to the community.
"Books shouldn't just sit on shelves waiting to be discovered—they should be actively shared, celebrated, and brought directly to readers. That's the heart of Phoenix Book Truck's mission."
Today, Mary splits her time between running the Book Truck, mentoring indie authors, and delivering engaging talks on literature, publishing, and entrepreneurship at events throughout Arizona.
